There was something for everyone to enjoy at this year‘s Forest Western Ontario Steam Threshers show!
.
If you were fortunate enough to come out Friday afternoon, you would’ve been treated to a spectacular display of both steam power mixed with horsepower. On display was an incredible selection of vintage tractors, steam powered threshers, combines, even a sawmill.
And for those who really like to feel the heat, there was no shortage of high-powered tractors participating in this year's annual tractor pull! If things got too hot for you, there was the opportunity to participate in Forest Curling's street curl. Yes you heard that correctly, there was even a Curling event at this year's show!
Each year the Western Ontario Threshers Association invites Forest curling and social club to assist with gate admission. A small but dedicated group of volunteers, members and coaches helped assist with running the gates this year and without their involvement this would not be possible..
Convener of the youth program Katy Thompson would like to express her deepest gratitude to all of those who stepped up to get involved with ticket sales and participating in the success of this year’s fund raiser. A portion of proceeds from the gate receipts are returned back to the Forest curling youth program.
Funds raised through this endeavour help to purchase such things as curling shoes, brooms, sliders, and many other items to help offset some of the expenses running the youth and junior learn to curl program.
